Writing

Notebook Bookshelf #3.jpg

Chris began writing after joining his first band in 1996. He instantly took to the ability that lyrics have to reflect the world around us, and has found himself exploring the speculative consequences of current systems.

Over the years he has contributed short stories, poems, articles & music reviews to various publications, and been active with his local poetry & spoken word community.

It was following the tragic death of his close friend and musical collaborator, Rob, in 2010, that Chris began thinking about writing a more long form story. In part, this was to ask himself questions about the impact of finding his friend's body.

The wider themes of the novel include heroin use, amputation, loss & dream spaces.

Phantom is a completed 85,000 word novel which is currently being sent to UK based agents for potential publication in the near future.
